The joys of bike riding
It is supposed to be winter but boy, is it hot! I rode my bike to work yesterday and I didn't even feel cold at all as the wind rushed past me. I really enjoy riding my bike. I get on my bike and from the first moment, I revel in the feel the speed and effortlessness as I glide forward. Of course, I start on a small hill so the effortlessness doesn't last long! I ride on the sidewalks and I am really glad that I can because drivers are crazy here. I have four hills to climb. Two are long and gradual so I just weave back and forth a bit to get up them when I lose momentum. I really struggle up the short, sharp hills though. I just have to remind myself that the more I struggle up them , the easier it will be next time. I love to come out of work at the end of the day, just climb on my bike and ride home. For some reason, the hills don't seem to bother me as much on the way home and I love to speed past all the drivers sitting in long lines at the lights. I almost want to keep going, gliding down the hill instead of turning into home, but I do turn and take my bike inside. My cats are glad to see me , but only after I put the bike in its place. I guess I'm the only bike lover in my house!
