New Year's Resolutions?

Is anyone doing New Year's Resolutions this year? I am thinking about the normal ones like eating more on the healthy side, exercising more and doing more fun things (reducing stress). I remember how Daddy used to gather us around the table and talk about the resolutions he made. He was such a list person. =) To add to my list, I would also like to do at least one thing adventurous every month, whether it is going to a new museum or exploring a hiking trail I have never been on before, I need to expand myself a bit more. I am working less and developing myself more so I want to continue on that path.

A new baby in the family

On 11-11-11, a baby girl was born into our family. From great-great grandma to proud father and mother, all welcomed the new addition. She is 6.3 lbs, 19 1/2" long and cute as a button.

We will see how she grows and who she becomes.

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers. Mom is gone but Grandma (Nana) is still here. W. and I were there last evening to water and help her move some things around. She is doing well.

Happy Easter

Spring is here. Easter is over, as of yesterday. Late this year because of the full moon coming just before the equinox so we had to wait a month for the next one.
It is mostly summer here in AZ. We have had 80 to 90's most of the last couple of weeks. Not much rain this winter.
I am trying tomatoes, strawberries, squash and radishes on my patio this summer. It might turn out to be too hot for them there with not enough sun. I have tomatoes on the plant I purchased from the nursery. The others I started from seed are getting big. I may need a different pot as they are crowding the radishes. Or I will need to harvest the radishes to let the tomatoes grow.

Grandad Again

Grandad passed away on Thursday morning March 24, 2011. The funeral was Saturday because some of the family in visiting had to get back. It was a nice funeral. Only graveside services, but we got to throw flowers and tobacco and sand.
Then we went to dinner together as a family. We did family dinner for our Mother's funeral as well.
Grandad gave up, he was tired of the pain. He did not want to be away from home anymore and when Nana told him he had to be able to walk so she could take care of him, he went to another home.
All the family was able to be there, we were missing some spouses, but all Grandad's fruits were there. The Great-Grandkids behaved well. Many friends from his past work days also came.

Gathering

Grandad fell this past week and broke his hip. He had surgery on Friday and is recovering well. He was up in a chair today and eating as normal. All the family is gathering to support Nana.
Booklady is in town in Tucson for Spring Break checking on things and visiting.

Almost February already!

It is hard to believe January went by so fast. Dad has a birthday on the Second, on Groundhog's day. I wonder if he will see his shadow or not? This has been a cold and dry winter for us. Other places have been really snowy and cold. What is your weather like?
